It's good to be back! After working three years at Bungie as their Production Manager and Project Leader, I returned to IMG in early January.

IMG has gone through quite a transition in the past few months. I, along with the new team at IMG, have been working on returning IMG to the forefront of Macintosh gaming! And by the looks of it, I think we're beginning to do that. The first thing you'll notice about the IMG CD-ROM is that we've changed the entire format.

The New Format

Since its inception back in 1993, IMG was published in DOCMaker, a cool little shareware application that allowed you to create stand-alone magazines and documents like ours. But DOCMaker was limited in what it could do. I decided after I took over at looking at other formats and settled on html.

One of my goals with the new IMG is to keep the magazine and web page in sync. In order to publish the magazine and web site in a timely manner, I felt that a common format would help us deliver content on time, quickly, easily, and effectively. That format is html. Since html is an evolving format, we'll be able to bring you exciting animations, interface elements, movies, sounds, and much more. What you see today is just the tip of the iceberg with what we'll be doing with the magazine. Expect a lot more changes to the IMG look and feel in the coming issues!

Delivering Issues On Time

Last year IMG had a disasterous year. IMG was only able to publish 5 issues last year. This will not happen again. In 1999 IMG will publish 10 issues. Now that we have a new format, we'll be able to deliver issues about every 5 weeks. We know how important it is for you to get your issues on time, and we promise to deliver this time around.

If you subscribed last year and you're wondering how many issues you'll be getting, you'll be happy to know that you will still be getting the exact amount of issues you ordered. In fact, we decided to extend everyone's subscription by at least one issues free of charge. Now, if you look on the CD-ROM mailer you got in the mail, you'll notice a few numbers on the top right hand corner of the envelope. This is when your subscription will expire. So, if it says 7-2, that means your subscription will expire with Volume 7 - Issue 2.

More Great Content

As you can see by this issue, we've really stepped up our efforts on providing more content. This issue is jam packed with great previews like Falcon 4.0 and Carmageddon, a great line up of reviews, and much more. But we're not stopping there. In the coming months we'll be adding video interviews, more exclusive previews, all new walkthroughs, cheats, and hints & tips, and more.

Stop Yapping Tuncer!
I need to stop writing this and burn this CD! We've spent the better part of these last few weeks working on this issue, that I ran out of time to write this article. In any case, I would like to welcome our subscribers to e-mail me with their thoughts. Do you like the new format? Do you have any suggestions? What's missing in IMG?

Until next time!
